Volunteer Services

We are very fortunate at Miracle Hill Nursing & Convalescent Center to have a very strong, and supportive Volunteer Services. These services allow our residents the opportunity to enjoy a variety of community organizations, activities, churches, and other cultural groups.

Local Pastors/Ministers provide morning devotional/worship services for our residents Monday thru Friday for one hour, starting at 8:00a.m.

Thanks to our volunteers, our residents are privilege with the opportunity to have buttons replaced, rips mended, and any other sewing needs attended to by our volunteer sewing program. Residents are also invited to participate in activities such as, learning how to sew, quilt making, and other specialty items. The quilts and other items are sold, and the funds are used to purchase additional materials or supplies. This activity is scheduled every Wednesday from 9:00 -11:00a.m., and has been in place since the 1980's.

The Ice Cream parlor is one of our main shining stars, within Volunteer Services. The Ice Cream parlor is open Monday thru Friday from 11:30am to 3:30pm. Proceeds from the Ice Cream parlor have assisted Miracle Hill Nursing & Convalescent Center with the purchase of additional wheelchairs, and other specialty items needed to make the residents feel as comfortable as possible.

Our volunteers are called upon to assist our resident with community trips, special events/promotions at the nursing center, and other extracurricular activities. High school and College Students doing volunteer hours are involved in conducting recreational activities, one-one- interaction with bed bound residents, reading, letter writing, general conversation, and games.

We share a community base partnership with Old West Florida Primitive Baptist Association Deacon & Mothers' Auxiliary. This organization has committed its members to supporting, as well as providing Gospel Concerts, and other programs at least quarterly.
